Properties of kinematic singularities

چکیده
The locally rotationally symmetric tilted perfect fluid Bianchi type V cosmological model provides examples of future geodesically complete spacetimes that admit a ‘kinematic singularity’ at which the fluid congruence is inextendible but all frame components of the Weyl and Ricci tensors remain bounded. We show that for any positive integer n there are examples of Bianchi type V spacetimes admitting a kinematic singularity such that the covariant derivatives of the Weyl and Ricci tensors up to the nth order also stay bounded. We briefly discuss singularities in classical spacetimes. PACS numbers: 98.80.Jk, 04.20.−q

On the Kinematic, Kinetostatic and Dynamic Properties of Parallel Manipulators in the Presence of Singularity
Introduction Over the past decades, with the large development of parallel structures, more attention has been paid to their kinematic, kinetostatic and dynamic properties, and in particular, to their singularities. Several papers deal with singularity analysis of parallel manipulators [111]. Most of them present the analysis of singular configurations from a kinematic point of view [1-5]. Alge...
متن کاملThe Kinematic design of a 3-dof Hybrid Manipulator
This paper focuses on the kinematic properties of a new three-degree-of-freedom hybrid manipulator. This manipulator is obtained by adding in series to a five-bar planar mechanism (similar to the one studied by Bajpai and Roth [1]) a third revolute passing through the line of centers of the two actuated revolute joints of the above linkage (Figures 2 & 3). The resulting architecture is hybrid i...
متن کاملExtended Jacobian for Redundant Robots Obtained from the Kinematics Constraints
Abstract. This paper presents a proposal for a new extended Jacobian method based on kinematic constraints, exploring only singularities of the kinematic chain. It is presented the development of the new extended Jacobian as well as their properties. These method can be applied to analyze the behavior of redundant robots on perfoming a task. Redundant robots are used to perform tasks which requ...
متن کاملSingularities of manipulators with non-unilateral constraints
An analytical method is presented to obtain all surfaces enveloping the workspace of a general n degree-of-freedom mechanism with non-unilateral constraints. The method is applicable to kinematic chains that can be modeled using the Denavit-Hartenberg representation method for serial kinematic chains or its modification for closed-loop kinematic chains. The method developed is based upon analyt...
متن کاملDynamic Singularities in Free-floating Space Manipulators
Dynamic Singularities are shown for free-floating space manipulator systems where the spacecraft moves in response to manipulator motions without compensation from its attitude control system. At a dynamic singularity the manipulator is unable to move its end-effector in some inertial direction; thus dynamic singularities must be considered in the design, planning, and control of free-floating ...
